ENCAUSTIC 101 (continued ...)

If you missed it,  the last post gave the basic overview of the encaustic painting process.  I borrowed my friend’s GoPro so I can actually now show you the steps involved and you can see an encaustic painting come alive with a few video clips ;)

putting down the first layer of paint :)

scraping with a razor blade to even out surface before fusing

fusing the first layer with a butane torch

fusing the blossoms … watch them ‘explode’
